Alchemy Recruitment Consulting is currently seeking an experienced Project Controls Engineer to support a leading power generation organisation on a 12-month contract. Based in Brisbane with occasional travel to site, this role will contribute to the delivery of critical operational and shutdown projects across large-scale energy assets.
About the Role
Reporting to the Project Controls Lead, you will oversee the planning, cost control, scheduling, and reporting functions across various capital and maintenance projects. You will liaise with key internal stakeholders, vendors, and contractors to ensure cost and schedule performance remains aligned with project objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain project schedules, cost tracking, and reporting systems.
- Administer project controls processes including purchase orders, invoicing, and forecasting.
- Coordinate shutdown planning and execution, managing timeframes, labour, and resources.
- Prepare detailed performance reports, dashboards, and ad hoc analysis.
- Identify risks and support scenario planning to maintain project performance.
What We’re Looking For
- Tertiary qualification in Engineering, Finance, Economics, or related field.
- 10+ years’ experience on major projects within mining, oil & gas, or energy sectors.
- Advanced skills in Primavera P6, MS Project, SAP, and cost management systems (e.g. Prism G2, Ecosys).
- Strong knowledge of earned value management, cost control and risk mitigation.
- Proven ability to work collaboratively across diverse stakeholder groups.
