About the company:
Alchemy Recruitment is seeking a Drill & Blast Engineer to join a leading open cut coal mining operation in the Upper Hunter Valley, NSW. This is a permanent, full-time position working a Monday to Friday roster, with relocation assistance available for the right candidate.
About the role:
In this role, you’ll report to the Senior Mining Engineer – Drill & Blast and work closely with operations and technical services teams. You will:
- Design and implement efficient drill and blast patterns aligned with operational needs
- Prepare and optimise drill and blast schedules to maximise productivity
- Monitor compliance to plans and adjust as necessary to meet production targets
- Collaborate with mine planning, production, and processing teams to ensure alignment
- Maintain forward-looking mine plans and proactively manage design adjustments
- Ensure all work meets internal safety and environmental standards

What we’re looking for:
- Degree in Mining Engineering or related field
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in a drill & blast role, ideally in open cut coal
- Familiarity with software such as Vulcan and Spry (preferred)
- Strong analytical and planning skills with the ability to manage competing priorities
- High level of safety awareness and commitment to team-based success
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite
