Alchemy Recruitment is partnering with a state government organisation, currently seeking a Principal Engineer (Civil) to oversee major infrastructure projects.
About the role:
You’ll provide engineering oversight, manage project teams and contractors while ensure delivery aligns with quality, safety, cost and time objectives.
- Leading the planning and execution of maintenance and safety projects on state-controlled roads
- Managing contractors and acting as the departmental representative on assigned projects
- Providing expert technical input into civil design, construction practices, and material selection
- Supervising and mentoring technical staff, including RPEQ oversight and sign-off responsibilities
- Maintaining compliance with engineering standards, safety regulations, and environmental guidelines
- Liaising with internal teams and external partners to ensure coordinated, timely delivery

What we’re looking for:
- Registered Professional Engineer of Queensland (RPEQ)
- Proven background in civil project delivery — ideally in roads, highways, or infrastructure maintenance
- Solid understanding of government procurement, project frameworks, and contract management
- Current Class C driver’s licence
