Join a high-performing project delivery team delivering critical capital projects across infrastructure, civil and water works. This role is ideal for a technically minded Project Engineer ready to step into a development pathway toward full Project Manager responsibilities.
Alchemy Recruitment is currently working alongside a successful natural energy resource provider who is seeking an experienced Civil Project Engineer to work in the Moranbah area, QLD.
DUTIES REQUIRED IN THIS ROLE:
- Study through to execution of civil projects related to general mine infrastructure
- Technically challenge the Engineering Consultant(s) to ensure lean, fit for purpose and safe engineering solutions without jeopardizing project progress
- Identification and standardisation of the appropriate engineering standards for the program scope to drive lean, fit for purpose and safe design
- Managing Internal engineering documents
- Work with key stakeholders to achieve project deliverables
- Identification of improvement initiatives to increase capital efficiency, productivity, and safety
- Safety in Design (SiD) processes management
- Organisation and management of technical governance and assurance processes;
- Management of engineering processes
EXPERIENCE AND COMPETENCIES:
- A minimum of 2-3 years of experience delivering civil projects within a brownfield open cut mining environment
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or similar
- Experience managing design consultants
- The ability to manage the engineering design process and prepare project deliverables including; scope of work, specifications, execution plans, cost estimates and schedule.
- Strong focus on safety
- Strong contractor management skills
- Experience in or familiarity with project/contractor management systems will be advantageous.
- Effective stakeholder engagement and communication skills will be critical to success

This is an ongoing contract role with a leading mining giant in the Mackay coalfields. The role is site-based on a Monday to Friday 5:2 FIFO (from Brisbane) or DIDO roster, with WFH flexibility on Fridays. You’ll join a well-supported Engineering Projects Team delivering capital infrastructure across the site. This role offers a direct development pathway into Project Management, with the opportunity to step up and lead your own projects after supporting a couple of key packages alongside a senior PM.
