Rates & Revenue Officer

Alchemy Recruitment Consulting is proud to partner with local council to recruit a Rates and Revenue Officer to join their Corporate Services team. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the community by supporting critical revenue services in one of Queensland’s most liveable regions.

This role is offered as a casual-based contract for 2 months initially, Monday to Friday (36hrs a week). 

About the Role

As a Rates and Revenue Officer, you will provide high-quality administrative and customer service support within the Revenue Services team. Your role will focus on maintaining accurate property records, processing rates and charges, and assisting with credit management, while ensuring a strong focus on service delivery and productivity.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide timely, accurate responses to rating and credit management enquiries.
  • Administer property-related rates and charges, including pensioner concessions, direct debits, and payment arrangements.
  • Maintain and update Council’s property database.
  • Process search applications, rates certificates, and receipting of payments.
  • Support the team with debtor management, invoicing, and financial transaction reviews.
  • Deliver excellent customer service to both internal and external stakeholders.

About You
You will be a motivated and detail-oriented professional with:

  • Proven administrative experience in a customer-focused environment.
  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills.
  • Proficiency in computer applications, with the ability to learn new systems quickly.
  • Knowledge of local government property and rating practices (desirable).

Qualifications:

  • C Class Driver’s Licence (mandatory).
  • Certificate IV/Diploma in Business Administration, Local Government, or similar (desirable).
  • Previous local government or revenue-related experience (desirable).
