Alchemy Recruitment Consulting is partnering with a leading ASX-listed mining and resources business to source an experienced Financial Controller to join their Brisbane-based corporate office.
This is a key leadership role reporting directly to the CFO, where you will lead a small finance team and play a pivotal role in shaping the financial direction of the organisation.
This will initially be a 3-6 month casual based contract, with potential to apply for permanency once available internally.
The Opportunity
As Financial Controller, you will be responsible for planning, controlling, and coordinating the statutory financial compliance processes for the Group. This includes:
- Overseeing external audit, taxation compliance and governance
- Treasury and cashflow management
- Management reporting and analysis
- Group insurance and risk management
- Leading Accounts Payable and Payroll shared services
- Supporting M&A activities and strategic projects
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver accurate statutory and management reporting to ASX standards
- Oversee financial governance, compliance, and internal controls
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing finance team
- Manage treasury, cashflow, and group insurance functions
- Partner with senior leaders on strategic decision-making and projects
- Maintain and enhance ERP systems (Pronto highly regarded)
About You
To be successful, you will bring:
- CPA (or equivalent) with 10+ years’ mining finance experience
- Strong background in ASX statutory reporting & compliance
- Experience in taxation, treasury, and corporate governance
- Demonstrated leadership of finance teams in the mining sector
- Exposure to project financing and M&A (highly regarded)
- Strong ERP and systems knowledge (Pronto advantageous)
