Structural Remediation Lead – Engineering Projects Ongoing Contract | 5:2 FIFO or DIDO | Major Mining Operation | Bowen Basin QLD

About the Role
A major mining organisation is seeking a Structural Remediation Lead for a site-based leadership role in the Bowen Basin. This position is offered on a 5:2 roster (FIFO from Brisbane or DIDO from the local region) and provides strong contract stability with likely extension.

Reporting to the Project Superintendent, you will lead the planning, coordination, and delivery of structural remediation and upgrade projects across critical site infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead remediation works on structural assets including workshops, loadout facilities, conveyors, and other site infrastructure.
• Manage projects through the full lifecycle: scoping, design review, contractor engagement, execution, and handover.
• Oversee inspections, risk assessments, and compliance with engineering standards.
• Collaborate with engineering, maintenance, and project stakeholders to align priorities.
• Manage contractors, budgets, schedules, and reporting to site frameworks.
• Drive safety, quality, and continuous improvement initiatives.

About You

• Degree in Civil/Structural or Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent).
• 5+ years’ experience in structural remediation or brownfield project delivery, ideally within mining or heavy industry.
• Strong understanding of engineering standards, compliance, and risk management.
• Demonstrated project management and contractor leadership capability.
• Proficiency in project reporting and Microsoft Office; SAP experience advantageous.
• Commitment to high safety and quality standards.
