Safety Advisor – Mining | Central Queensland | 3-Month Contract
About the Role:
We’re seeking a proactive, hands-on, Safety Advisor to join an open-cut mining operation in Central Queensland on a 3-month contract. Working in a small and supportive HSET team, you’ll provide hands-on support to maintain and improve safety performance across site.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the review and implementation of the Safety and Health Management System (SHMS)
- Facilitate risk assessments, incident investigations (ICAM) and field leadership activities
- Conduct audits, inspections and reporting to drive continuous improvement
- Assist with training governance and ensure compliance with QLD mining safety legislation
- Coach and influence supervisors and contractors to promote a strong safety culture
About You:
- Relevant Health & Safety qualifications (minimum Cert IV or Diploma)
- Experience in mining, construction or other heavy industry
- Knowledge of QLD Coal Mining Safety & Health legislation
- ICAM investigation experience highly regarded
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- A practical, collaborative approach to safety
