Alchemy Recruitment Consulting is partnering with a well-established, asset-intensive organisation to engage an experienced Financial Accountant on a casual contract through to the end of March. This role sits within the Financial Control function and will suit a hands-on accountant who can step in quickly and add immediate value.
This opportunity is ideal for someone seeking a short-term contract with exposure to complex financial operations, reporting and controls.
The Opportunity Reporting to a senior finance leader, you will provide critical support across accounting and assurance functions, ensuring financial transactions, controls and reporting are delivered accurately and in line with accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
Key responsibilities include:
- Preparing and posting journals and completing account reconciliations
- Supporting accurate and timely financial transaction processing
- Designing, documenting and monitoring financial controls
- Assisting with statutory and non-statutory financial reporting
- Supporting external audit activities and audit deliverables
- Providing financial analysis and insights to support decision-making
- Assisting with financial systems enhancements and process improvements
About You To be successful in this contract role, you will bring:
- Degree qualification in Accounting, Finance or Business
- CPA or CA qualification (or near completion)
- 3–6 years’ experience in Financial Accounting or Financial Control
- Strong technical accounting knowledge and attention to detail
- Experience working to tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to hit the ground running and work autonomously
