Project Controller – Major Capital Project
An long term opportunity is available for an experienced Project Controller to support delivery of a large-scale major capital project within a mining environment. This role will suit someone with strong capability across cost control, forecasting, schedule integration, and project reporting.
The Role
Reporting into the Project Management team, you will provide end-to-end project controls support, ensuring accurate visibility of cost, schedule, progress, and performance throughout execution.
Key Responsibilities
- Cost control across budget, commitments, accruals, and actuals
- Monthly forecasting (EAC / ETC) and variance analysis
- Validation of contractor progress claims and invoices
- Support schedule and progress tracking in collaboration with planners
- Change control administration and impact assessment (cost & schedule)
- Preparation of weekly and monthly project controls reports
- Performance analysis, trend identification, and early risk flagging
- Interface with commercial, procurement, finance, and site teams
About You
- 5+ years experience in Project Controls / Project Cost Control on mining projects
- Strong understanding of cost management, forecasting, and reporting cycles
- Working knowledge of schedule and progress measurement methodologies
- Advanced Excel skills; Power BI experience highly regarded
- Exposure to ERP / cost management systems (e.g. SAP, Primavera P6) preferred
- Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills
