AO8 Manager Special Projects

We are seeking an experienced Manager, Special Projects to lead the coordination and delivery of high-impact, place-based initiatives across regional Queensland. Working closely with senior leaders and regional partners, you’ll help turn complex regional priorities into well-governed, practical projects that deliver real outcomes for communities.

What you’ll do:

  • Lead the planning, coordination and delivery of priority special projects across multiple regions
  • Build strong, trusted relationships with government agencies, regional leaders and external stakeholders
  • Design and apply fit-for-purpose project management frameworks, tools and reporting processes
  • Facilitate cross-agency collaboration, identifying and resolving barriers to progress
  • Monitor progress against agreed milestones and performance measures, escalating risks where required
  • Share insights, learnings and best practice across regions to strengthen collective outcomes

What we’re looking for:

  • Demonstrated experience leading complex projects in collaborative or multi-stakeholder environments
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship-building capability, including at senior levels
  • Sound project management skills, with an ability to manage governance, risk and reporting requirements
  • Experience preparing clear, well-considered advice and written materials for executive audiences
  • An understanding of government processes, policy environments or public-sector decision-making (highly regarded)
  • Ability to work flexibly, manage competing priorities and deliver outcomes within tight timeframes
  • Willingness to travel occasionally to support regional engagement
