Overview:
Alchemy Recruitment Consulting is partnering with a leading mining operation in North Queensland seeking a Mining Engineer to join their technical services team. This operation is focused on delivering safe, efficient underground production while supporting ongoing operational growth and future development initiatives.
The site operates an established underground metalliferous mining environment with modern mining practices and a strong commitment to safety, teamwork, and continuous improvement. This role offers the opportunity to gain broad exposure across planning, production support, and project activities within a collaborative team environment.
About the Role:
Reporting through the site leadership team, the Mining Engineer will play an important role in supporting daily operations and medium-term mine planning to ensure production targets are achieved safely and efficiently.
Key duties will include:
- Preparing and reviewing drill and blast plans aligned with operational requirements
- Monitoring and reporting on daily production performance
- Assisting with short- and medium-term mine scheduling activities
- Developing weekly and forward-looking production plans
- Supporting site-based improvement and project initiatives
- Coordinating engineering tasks to support operational delivery
- Working closely with production and development crews to optimise outcomes
- Promoting strong safety behaviours and operational standards
- Contributing to continuous improvement across mining activities
Work arrangements:
- FIFO available from Brisbane & Townsville
- Permanent full-time position
- 8/6 roster
- Camp accommodation provided during swings
What we’re looking for:
The successful candidate will demonstrate:
- Tertiary qualifications in Mining Engineering or a related discipline
- Approximately 2+ years’ experience in a mining engineering role
- Exposure to underground hard rock or metalliferous mining operations
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capability
- Effective communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- Experience using mine planning software such as Deswik
- Sound computer skills including MS Office applications
- A proactive approach to safety and operational improvement
