We are seeking experienced Health & Injury Management Coordinators and Health & Safety Coordinators to support operations at a large open cut mining operation in the Hunter Valley, NSW.
These roles sit within the Health, Safety & Training team and will suit professionals who enjoy working closely with operational teams to support workplace safety, injury management, and workforce wellbeing within a fast-paced mining environment.
This opportunity is ideal for candidates with a background in Allied Health, injury management, rehabilitation, or workplace health and safety who are passionate about improving safety performance and supporting a proactive safety culture on site.
What you’ll do:
- Coordinate injury management and return-to-work programs, supporting early intervention and rehabilitation
- Develop and deliver workforce health and wellbeing programs, including physical and mental health initiatives
- Support managers and supervisors with health, safety, and compliance systems
- Conduct site inspections, audits, and risk assessments to maintain a strong safety culture
- Assist with incident investigations, safety reporting, and program development
- Review pre-employment medicals and periodic health assessments
- Support emergency response planning and participate in safety committees
- Facilitate contractor forums and engage with internal and external stakeholders
- Promote safety culture through coaching, training, and workforce engagement
What we’re looking for:
- Experience in workplace health and safety, injury management, rehabilitation, or occupational health
- Qualifications in a relevant discipline such as Work Health & Safety, Physiotherapy, Exercise Physiology, Occupational Therapy, or similar
- Minimum Certificate IV in Work Health & Safety or relevant Allied Health qualification
- Return to Work Coordinator Accreditation (SIRA) or the ability to obtain
- Strong understanding of WHS legislation and regulatory requirements
- Experience supporting workers compensation and return-to-work processes
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work across all levels of the workforce
- Intermediate Microsoft Office skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced operational environment and manage competing priorities
Highly regarded:
- Experience in mining, resources, heavy industry, or high-risk environments
- Qualifications in Safety Auditing, Occupational Hygiene, or Safety Science
- Drug and Alcohol Testing Accreditation
