Mechanical Engineer

Alchemy Recruitment are partnering with a leading civil contractor to appoint an experienced Mechanical Engineer to join a high-performing fleet and maintenance team. This role reports to the Division Manager and is a diverse role focused on improving plant performance, maintenance systems, and reliability outcomes across a large civil construction fleet.
 
Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and improve maintenance systems, processes, and documentation
  • Drive fleet reliability initiatives and defect elimination strategies
  • Manage and enhance condition monitoring programs
  • Analyse plant performance, costs, and KPIs to identify improvement opportunities
  • Support whole-of-life asset modelling and budgeting
  • Assist with equipment acquisition, overhauls, and tender processes
  • Ensure maintenance planning aligns with project and operational needs
  • Provide technical support and training to site and workshop teams
  • Deliver accurate and timely reporting on fleet performance

 Skills and Experience:

  • Degree-qualified in Mechanical Engineering, ideally 3+ years’ experience
  • Strong background in mobile plant and mining equipment
  • Experience with checking oil samples and quality investigations
  • Experience in working with the maintenance planners and managers, reporting on up-time, maintenance plans and breakdowns
  • Strong systems experience (ERP / maintenance systems preferred)
  • Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Available to work a day shift roster 8/6
