Alchemy Recruitment are partnering with a leading civil contractor to appoint an experienced Mechanical Engineer to join a high-performing fleet and maintenance team. This role reports to the Division Manager and is a diverse role focused on improving plant performance, maintenance systems, and reliability outcomes across a large civil construction fleet.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and improve maintenance systems, processes, and documentation
- Drive fleet reliability initiatives and defect elimination strategies
- Manage and enhance condition monitoring programs
- Analyse plant performance, costs, and KPIs to identify improvement opportunities
- Support whole-of-life asset modelling and budgeting
- Assist with equipment acquisition, overhauls, and tender processes
- Ensure maintenance planning aligns with project and operational needs
- Provide technical support and training to site and workshop teams
- Deliver accurate and timely reporting on fleet performance
Skills and Experience:
- Degree-qualified in Mechanical Engineering, ideally 3+ years’ experience
- Strong background in mobile plant and mining equipment
- Experience with checking oil samples and quality investigations
- Experience in working with the maintenance planners and managers, reporting on up-time, maintenance plans and breakdowns
- Strong systems experience (ERP / maintenance systems preferred)
- Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple priorities
- Available to work a day shift roster 8/6
