Document Writer

Overview 
We are seeking an experienced Document Writer to review, update, and develop operational and HSE documentation for an industrial complex in Townsville. This includes training packages, procedures, work instructions, forms, and checklists, ensuring alignment with current legislation, standards, and internal governance. The role can offer a hybrid working arrangement and there is a degree of flexibility available.  This is a contract role with the duration likely to be 3 –4 months.  
Key Responsibilities 
  • Develop and update operational and HSE documentation  
  • Review materials against legislative, standards, and policy changes  
  • Assist with scoping documents as required  
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts to capture processes  
  • Ensure document control, consistency, and compliance  

Essential Requirements 

  • Proven technical writing experience in industrial, mining, manufacturing, energy, or similar sectors  
  • Strong understanding of governance, compliance, and document control  
  • Ability to translate complex processes into clear instructions  
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills  
  • Ability to work independently in a remote setting  
Desirable 
  • eLearning or digital training development experience  
  • Familiarity with HSE systems or refinery/heavy industry environments.
