Project Controller – Major Capital Project
Alchemy Recruitment are partnering with a leading resources organisation to appoint a Project Controller to support the delivery of a major project.
This is a unique opportunity to join a high-performing engineering team as a key member of the project leadership team. The successful candidate will play a critical role in providing integrated cost, schedule and risk control, supporting informed decision-making and successful project delivery. Acting as trusted advisor to the Project Manager, ensuring accurate reporting, forecasting, and performance analysis across the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Support project strategy, planning and execution decisions
- Provide insights on cost, schedule and risk performance
- Work closely with Project Managers and stakeholders
- Develop and maintain detailed project schedules
- Conduct schedule risk analysis and scenario planning
- Ensure critical path integrity and alignment with project objectives
- Establish and manage project budgets and forecasts
- Monitor cost performance and identify improvement opportunities
- Develop cashflows and time-phased cost profiles
- Maintain and manage project risk registers
- Track mitigation actions and escalate key risks
- Assess and communicate impacts of project changes
- Deliver accurate and timely performance reports
Skills and Experience
- Proven experience as a Project Controls lead working on a major project (>100m in execution)
- Exposure to major capital projects, ideally within mining, energy or infrastructure
- Strong understanding of cost, schedule and risk integration
- Experience with tools such as Primavera P6 / MS Project and advanced Excel
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
