Contract Manager

Overview

An opportunity exists for an experienced Contract Manager to support the delivery of critical response capabilities within a Federal Government organisation. Reporting to the Senior Advisor Contracts, you will manage contracts and procurement activities related to search and rescue, as well as pollution response and prevention. This is a 26-month contract based in Brisbane, with strong potential for extension.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day activities of outsourced contracts, including preparation, review, negotiation, and variations
  • Monitor contract performance, system availability, and compliance
  • Prepare, manage, and track contract budgets
  • Coordinate procurement activities including documentation, evaluation plans, and reporting
  • Assist in developing technical specifications for equipment and services
  • Manage stakeholder communications across internal and external parties
  • Support operational response activities (e.g. search & rescue, pollution incidents, exercises)
  • Contribute to procurement planning and continuous improvement initiatives

Essential Requirements

  • Demonstrated experience in contract management and procurement
  • Experience managing budgets, reporting, and contract performance
  • Strong understanding of procurement processes and documentation
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

Desirable

  • Experience within government or regulated environments
  • Exposure to emergency response, maritime, or operational services
  • Experience developing technical specifications
