Human Resources Advisor

Alchemy Recruitment Consulting is proud to partner with a globally recognised resources operator to source an experienced Human Resources Advisor for their North West Queensland mining operations. This is a genuine contract opportunity offering the chance to deliver meaningful HR support within a large-scale, complex operational environment.
 
This role is offered on a FIFO basis with flights serviced from Brisbane, Townsville, or Cairns, working a 8/6 roster.
 
About the Operation
With major transformation initiatives currently underway, our client is investing in its people and HR capability to support a strong operational future. You’ll be embedded within an established HR Operations team, working directly alongside operational leaders to drive outcomes across a dynamic workforce.
 
The Role
Reporting to the HR Superintendent, you will act as a trusted HR partner to operational teams, providing timely and pragmatic advice across a broad generalist remit. Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing HR advice across employee relations, performance management, and legislative compliance
  • Supporting performance improvement plans and attendance management processes
  • Assisting with workforce planning, roster planning, and establishment management activities
  • Contributing to recruitment support and organisational capability initiatives
  • Supporting remuneration, benefits, payroll processing, and injury management activities
  • Assisting with the delivery and implementation of HR projects and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Partnering with leaders to support data-driven decision making

 
About You
You are a capable HR generalist who thrives in fast-paced, operational settings. You bring sound judgement, strong stakeholder skills, and the confidence to deliver consistent, professional advice at all levels of an organisation. You will also bring:

  • Tertiary qualification in Human Resources or a related discipline
  • 3-5 years’ HR experience, ideally within the resources, mining, or heavy industry sector
  • Strong knowledge of HR policies, procedures, and employment legislation
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to influence, negotiate, and build effective stakeholder relationships
  • Confidence acting as a trusted HR resource across all levels of an organisation
