Mining Civil Construction | Contract Role 

An experienced Civil Project Manager is required to lead the delivery of civil construction and infrastructure works within an operational mining environment.

This is a contractor-side opportunity suited to a commercially focused Project Manager with a strong background in earthworks, roads, drainage and mine infrastructure.

  • Competitive Day Rate
  • 5:2 / 4:3 roster
  • FIFO available from the East Coast
  • DIDO and residential options available
  • Leave site from 12:00 pm each Thursday
  • Work from home every second Friday

The Role

You will be responsible for the safe, efficient and commercially successful delivery of civil projects from mobilisation through to completion.

Typical works may include:

  • Bulk and detailed earthworks
  • Haul roads and access roads
  • Drainage and water management
  • Hardstands and laydown areas
  • Concrete and structural works
  • Pipelines and associated infrastructure
  • Rehabilitation and maintenance works

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage projects from tender handover through to completion
  • Lead Engineers, Supervisors, subcontractors and site crews
  • Develop and maintain project programmes
  • Manage budgets, forecasts, variations and cost reporting
  • Coordinate procurement, plant, labour and subcontractors
  • Build strong relationships with client representatives
  • Ensure works are delivered safely, on time and within budget
  • Monitor quality, productivity and project performance
  • Maintain compliance with mining, safety and environmental requirements
  • Provide regular reporting to senior management

About You

To be considered, you will ideally have:

  • A qualification in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or a related discipline
  • Significant experience managing civil construction projects
  • Previous mining, resources or heavy industrial experience
  • Strong commercial and contract management skills
  • Experience managing self-perform and subcontractor workforces
  • Excellent leadership, planning and communication skills
  • A strong understanding of safety, quality and environmental systems
  • Current Australian Driver’s Licence
  • Relevant mining inductions and medicals, or the ability to obtain them
