Alchemy Recruitment is partnering with a state government client to support them in recruiting for a Trainee Materials Officer based in Warwick, QLD.

This is a 6-month contract (with extension potential), with an immediate start.

About the role:

• Perform materials testing under supervision – soil, aggregate, concrete, bitumen and asphalt
• Assist with data analysis, ensuring accuracy and timely turnaround
• Travel with experienced staff on regional field investigations and site sampling
• Work both indoor and outdoor, including physically demanding tasks (lifting up to 25kg, shovelling, uneven terrain)
• Occasional isolated locations with limited mobile coverage for up to 5 days – all travel costs covered

Preferred Requirements:

• Current Class C driver’s licence
• Physically able to perform manual handling, lifting and extended standing/walking
• Sound numeracy and basic computer skills
• Comfortable with regional travel and time away from home base

Preferred Qualifications:

• No formal qualifications required – training provided
• Prior lab, trades, civil or construction exposure highly regarded but not essential
