Alchemy Recruitment is partnering with a federal government client to support them in recruiting for 3 x APS6 Senior Compliance Officers, based in Canberra or Melbourne.
About the Role
Our client’s regulatory division is expanding to administer the most significant reforms to Australia’s electoral funding and disclosure laws in 40 years. Joining the Disclosure and Compliance team, you’ll work under limited direction to independently review financial disclosure returns, lead complex compliance assessments and oversee election funding payments, while guiding junior staff.
This is a full-time, 12-month fixed-term APS engagement starting 2 November 2026, with possible extension to 18 months. The role is office based in Canberra or Melbourne.

Your Key Responsibilities
- Independently review financial disclosure returns for accuracy, completeness and legislative compliance.
- Undertake complex compliance assessments of election funding claims.
- Oversee and coordinate the accurate processing and payment of election funding.
- Lead the collection and analysis of information to identify potential non-compliance, including foreign influence risks.
- Provide leadership, guidance and support to junior staff.
You’ll be successful in this role if you have:
- Demonstrated experience supporting or leading financial audits or similar assurance activities.
- Well-developed analytical skills and sound judgement.
- Highly developed communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- The ability to deliver quality outcomes under pressure in a changing environment
Highly Regarded
Qualifications or experience in accounting, commerce, finance or a related field.
Experience guiding or reviewing the work of others.
Good to Know
Australian citizenship and the ability to obtain a Baseline security clearance are required. Candidates must be politically neutral, so anyone active in political affairs will not be eligible.
