About the company:
Partnered with a leading coal producer, who operate several mines within Australia are looking for their next Mine Planning Engineer. This company is dedicated to investing in skilled and passionate Engineers, state-of-the-art equipment, and establishing industry-leading safety and production standards.
About the role:
Reporting to the Technical Services Manager, you will be responsible for optimizing the short, medium, and long term mine planning. Responsibilities include:
- Underground mine scheduling, data base maintenance and scripting
- Reconciliation of mine models/plans with actuals whilst ensuring compliance
- Assisting with gas drainage and goaf drainage activities
- Involvement in various mining related expansion projects
- Financial modelling
- Ensuring compliance with all statutory and regulatory requirements
Skills & experience required:
- Tertiary qualification in Mining Engineering (or equivalent)
- Ideally 3-5 years planning and operational experience in an underground coal mine
- Proficient in mine planning software including XPAC, AutoCad, Vulcan and Ventsim, MS Office suite and project management software (Microsoft Project)
- Strong interpersonal and communication (written and verbal) skills
- Demonstrated problem solving skills and able to work with minimal supervision to develop concepts through to implementation
- Demonstrated commitment to safety and ability to foster and maintain a positive safety culture
