Alchemy Recruitment Consulting is working with a well-established, asset-intensive organisation to engage an Assistant Accountant on a casual contract through to the end of March.
This role sits within the Financial Control team and will suit a capable accounting professional who can support transactional accounting, reconciliations and assurance activities in a fast-paced environment.
This opportunity is ideal for someone looking for a short-term contract where they can apply strong core accounting skills and hit the ground running.
The Opportunity Reporting to a senior finance professional, you will support the timely and accurate processing of financial transactions and contribute to broader accounting and assurance activities.
Key responsibilities include:
- Preparing and posting journals to the finance system
- Completing balance sheet and account reconciliations
- Supporting financial controls testing and documentation
- Assisting with statutory and non-statutory financial reporting
- Supporting audit activities within established control frameworks
- Identifying process improvements across financial systems and procedures
- Providing support to users and assisting with small system enhancements
About You To be successful in this contract role, you will bring:
- A degree qualification in Accounting, Finance or Business
- CPA or CA qualification (desirable or in progress)
- 1–3 years’ experience in an Assistant Accountant or similar role
- Strong attention to detail and sound financial accounting knowledge
- Experience working to deadlines in a transactional finance environment
- The ability to work independently while collaborating within a finance team
