Radio Technician – Mining Communications
Location: Bowen Basin, QLD
Roster: 7/7 Day Shift | 12-Month Contract | Potential for ongoing work
Pay: Competitive Hourly Rate
We’re seeking an experienced Radio Technician to support communications systems across a major mining operation in the Bowen Basin. This role is focused on maintaining and servicing mine radio networks on both fixed and mobile equipment.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on site radio systems
- Support and troubleshoot communications on fixed plant, light vehicles, and heavy mobile equipment
- Work with Motorola P25 systems and associated infrastructure
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders and contractors to ensure communication reliability
- Maintain accurate records and support documentation updates
- About You
- Strong experience with Motorola P25 radio systems (essential)
- Previous experience in mining or heavy industry environments
- Familiarity with platforms such as Rajant, Cisco, Cambium is highly regarded
- Strong fault-finding, diagnostics, and documentation skills
- Commitment to safety and working within SHMS frameworks
