We are seeking experienced Communications Technicians to join a leading mining operation in the Bowen Basin. Multiple opportunities are available for technicians specialising in Radio Systems (DRS / Motorola P25) OR Fleet Management Systems (FMS / Minestar).

These roles play a key part in ensuring the reliability and performance of mine communications and autonomous fleet networks critical to daily operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, and repair industrial network, microwave, Wi-Fi, and wireless systems.
• Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on mine communications, radio, and FMS networks.
• Support and troubleshoot communications on fixed plant, heavy and light mobile equipment.
• Respond to breakdowns and system faults promptly to minimise downtime.
• Source, interpret, and apply technical data from OEM manuals, bulletins, and digital systems.
• Maintain accurate service records and collaborate with site teams to ensure reliability and compliance with SHMS frameworks.

Experience & Skills

• Proven experience as a Communications or Radio Technician within mining or heavy industry with exposure to any or all of the below systems and equipment.
• Exposure to Motorola P25, Rajant Breadcrumb, Ubiquiti, Cisco, or Cambium systems.
• Experience with Fleet Management Systems (FMS), including Caterpillar Minestar, is highly regarded.
• Understanding of collision avoidance, fatigue monitoring, and autonomous fleet technologies.
• Strong troubleshooting, diagnostics, and documentation skills with a focus on safety and compliance.
