The Opportunity
Alchemy Recruitment Consulting is seeking an experienced Contracts Administrator to join a high-performing commercial team on one of Australia’s most significant infrastructure projects. This is a 6-month casual contract based in Brisbane, offering immediate start for the right candidate.
  
You will play a key role in the day-to-day administration of contracts, supporting the Lead Commercial and Project Teams across a portfolio of ancillary contracts. This is a fast-paced environment where attention to detail, commercial acumen and the ability to meet deadlines are essential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Administer the correspondence register and manage incoming and outgoing contractual correspondence in a timely manner
  • Prepare high-standard contractual correspondence and contract documents in accordance with commercial standards and approved templates
  • Verify progress claims, issue payment certificates and process claims in line with contractual requirements
  • Assess invoices, progress claims and variations and assist with dispute resolution
  • Monitor contracts for compliance with contractual requirements and internal policies and procedures
  • Ensure insurances and contractual documentation are maintained and accurate
  • Assist with tracking contractual compliance and performance
  • Attend and contribute to contract administration meetings
  • Assist in the identification and management of contractual risks

Essential Requirements

  • Proven experience in a similar contract administration role within a large organisation
  • Understanding of contract law with experience administering construction and services agreements
  • Sound knowledge of State Building and Construction Industry Security of Payment Acts
  • Significant experience with contracts or finance systems and relevant process flows
  • Extensive experience managing suppliers against performance criteria
  • Strong analytical, planning and problem-solving skills
  • Clear and concise written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines and operate effectively as part of a team
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Office suite

Desirable

  • Tertiary qualifications in business, commerce, law, engineering or a related discipline
  • Experience in the infrastructure or rail industry
  • Experience using PRISM G2 contract management software
  • Experience using Aconex or similar document management systems
