About The Opportunity
Alchemy Recruitment Consulting is looking for an experienced ETCS System Integration Director to lead the integration, deployment, and commissioning of ETCS Level 2 for in Queensland.
This is a senior leadership role with strategic and operational responsibility across signalling, digital systems, and stakeholder engagement.
You will manage a multidisciplinary team and oversee the successful delivery of complex systems integration activities across the Sector 1 corridor. This includes driving alignment across infrastructure projects, ensuring technical excellence, and managing stakeholder expectations.
What you’ll do:
- Lead all phases of ETCS Level 2 system integration from strategy through to operational handover.
- Establish robust governance, reporting, and risk management processes.
- Build and manage a high-performing team across systems engineering, assurance, and delivery.
- Oversee systems assurance, configuration management, and RAMS processes.
- Engage with regulators, operators, delivery partners, and internal stakeholders to ensure program success.
- Ensure operational readiness and safe live deployment.
What you’ll bring:
- Postgraduate qualifications in engineering and/or project management.
- Professional accreditation (e.g. CPEng, CPPM).
- Active membership of relevant industry associations
- Solid experience in the Australian railway industry, ideally involving ETCS or major signalling projects.
- Strong understanding of local regulatory and operational frameworks.
- Demonstrated success in leading large, multidisciplinary rail systems projects as Project Director or Technical Director.
- Deep experience across the full systems engineering lifecycle, including commissioning of safety-critical systems.
- Strong technical grounding in rail systems integration, including signalling, communications, and assurance.
- Proven ability to lead high-performing teams with a strong safety and delivery culture.
