Alchemy Recruitment is currently partnering with a well-established organisation seeking an experienced Electrical Project Manager for a site-based role in the Mackay Coal Fields.

This opportunity offers involvement across a broad capital works portfolio with strong flexibility and long-term potential.

DUTIES REQUIRED IN THIS ROLE:

  • Deliver electrical projects from design through to execution across site infrastructure
  • Manage consultants to ensure practical and fit-for-purpose outcomes
  • Apply engineering standards across project scopes
  • Manage project documentation and internal governance processes
  • Work closely with stakeholders to achieve project deliverables
  • Identify and implement initiatives to improve efficiency, productivity and reliability
  • Oversee project risk, compliance and design review processes
  • Provide oversight of contractor and consultant performance

EXPERIENCE AND COMPETENCIES:

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience delivering electrical projects in a brownfield heavy industry environment
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or trade or similar qualification
  • Strong commitment to safe project delivery
  • Background in general mine site infrastructure or control system upgrades (ideal)
  • Ability to prepare scopes, specifications, execution plans, estimates and schedules
  • Strong contractor management capability
  • Familiarity with project delivery systems advantageous
  • Experience working in a matrix environment desirable
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills essential

IN RETURN, YOU CAN EXPECT: This is an long term contract delivering projects from concept through to handover, specifically for a 25M project for 3-4 years. The role is based in the Mackay Coal Fields with some Brisbane office periods and offers a strong hourly rate. You’ll work a Monday to Friday roster with some WFH flexibility. Travel options include DIDO or FIFO, with camp accommodation and meals provided.

You will join a capital projects team delivering multiple small projects while also supporting larger initiatives.
