Alchemy Recruitment is partnering with a local government client to support them in recruiting for a Financial Analyst on a 6-month contract based in Logan Central.

About the role

• Pay rate of $58.06 per hour + super
• 6-month contract through to late April 2027, full time, Monday to Friday
• Sit within the corporate accounting team, supporting the finance business partners
• Prepare and analyse budgets, forecasts and management reports for senior leadership and elected members
• Investigate budget variances and provide accurate, timely financial advice
• Support short and long term financial modelling
• Maintain financial reporting systems and processes with a focus on data integrity, internal controls and compliance
• Train internal stakeholders in using financial reports and systems

Preferred Requirements

• Experience as a financial analyst, management accountant or similar in a medium to large organisation
• Hands-on involvement in budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis
• Strong financial modelling and Excel skills
• Ability to explain complex financial information in plain language
• Local government or public sector finance experience highly regarded
• Current C class driver’s licence
• Available to start Monday 26 October

Preferred Qualifications

• Tertiary qualification in accounting, finance or business
• CPA or CA membership or eligibility (desirable)
