Protective Coatings Coordinator – Asset Integrity BMA | Ongoing Contract | Moranbah Region DIDO or residential | 4/3 Roster

We’re seeking an experienced Protective Coatings Coordinator to support BMA’s Asset Integrity Program across major structural and surface remediation works. This role suits someone with strong coatings, QA/inspection, and maintenance experience who can coordinate safe, high-quality execution in a busy brownfields environment.

About the Role Reporting to the Project Manager – Asset Integrity, you will coordinate and lead the safe execution of protective coatings and surface preparation activities across site. You’ll work closely with structural, engineering, and execution teams to ensure coating works meet safety standards, NACE/AMPP and ISO requirements, and align with BMA work management processes.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop coating work packs and scopes aligned with engineering recommendations
• Lead site execution for coatings and surface preparation activities
• Conduct and coordinate inspections, QA/QC, and documentation for completed works
• Liaise with structural engineers, CHPP teams, maintenance, and project supervisors
• Ensure compliance with NACE/AMPP, ISO standards, and BMA processes
• Identify defects, walk down scopes, and provide recommendations for remediation
• Support shutdown and campaign-based work as required
• Drive safety, performance, and continuous improvement across all works

About You

• Experience in protective coatings, blasting, painting, or surface preparation
• Background in structural maintenance, asset integrity, or similar fields
• NACE/AMPP certification or coatings inspection experience (preferred)
• Strong understanding of QA/QC, surface prep standards, and coating systems
• Ability to coordinate multiple contractors and ensure safe field execution
• Confident communicator who can work across CHPP, projects, and maintenance teams
• Mining experience desirable, but not essential for the right coatings specialist

• DIDO to the Moranbah region
