Role details
Roster: 5:2 / 4:3 (9-Day Fortnight)
Location: Site based in Bowen Basin with FIFO and DIDO options
FIFO:
- Fly in Monday morning
- Fly out Thursday afternoon (~12:00pm) (WFH every second Friday)
- Flights provided from East Coast home ports between Cairns and Brisbane
DIDO:
- Available for candidates within a 4-hour driving radius
Remuneration & Benefits Total fixed remuneration package ~$250,000 + super + 15% STI

Overview
The Opportunity for the Mechanical Engineering Manager is sought to provide engineering leadership across a complex mining operation. This position will oversee mechanical engineering governance, reliability strategy and asset integrity across critical site infrastructure.
Working closely with maintenance and operations leadership, you will ensure mechanical systems are safe, compliant and operating at optimal performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead mechanical engineering governance across operational assets
- Ensure compliance with relevant engineering and statutory requirements
- Oversee asset integrity, lifecycle management and reliability strategies
- Provide technical guidance to maintenance teams and site leadership
- Develop engineering standards, procedures and improvement programs
- Support major maintenance activities, shutdowns and asset upgrades
- Mentor and develop engineering capability across the maintenance function
- Contribute to long-term asset performance and operational strategy
Experience & Requirements
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering
- Extensive experience in mining, minerals processing or heavy industry
- Strong leadership experience in engineering or maintenance environments
- Demonstrated experience managing asset integrity and reliability programs
- Experience supporting complex operational assets and infrastructure
- Strong leadership and stakeholder management capability
