Mine Accountant

Alchemy Recruitment Consulting is working with one the world’s top mining companies to secure an experienced Mine Accountant for a permanent position in Central Queensland. This is a 9-day fortnight roster, with fly in- fly out from Brisbane.   

In this role you will be responsible for:

  • Financial management reporting, coordinating, and processing month end activities in a timely and accurate manner
  • Capital and Cash Management planning/reporting
  • Preparation of annual statutory financials
  • FBT and BAS preparation
  • Supporting all departments in compiling their annual capital and operating budgets as well as the annual Life of Mine (LOM) plan
  • Making commercial recommendations based on your technical expertise and have a proven ability to influence high level decisions
  • Identifying and implementing continuous improvement opportunities and add value through partnering with all departments
  • Mentoring cost owners in cost control, accruals, and commercial responsibilities

Requirements of the role include:

  • Tertiary qualification in Accounting/Finance
  • You will hold, or be studying towards, obtaining your CA/CPA qualification
  • Experience in SAP, XERAS and Power BI will be highly regarded
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office suite – Word, Excel and PowerPoint
