Alchemy is delighted to be partnering with one the world’s top mining companies, in search for a Mine Accountant based in central Queensland. This is a 9-day fortnight roster, with DIDO from Mackay.
The role is based at an open cut coal mine in the Bowen Basin. This is a large, complex operation producing high quality coking coal for steel markets.
About the role
Reporting to the Commercial Manager your responsibilities will include:
- Providing accurate and timely management and financial accounting information meeting mining operations and corporate requirements.
- Management and preparation of site budgets and forecasts as well as compliance with group accounting policy.
- Management of the site procurement and supply function, contracts, and contract management as well as the provision of the site camp and accommodation facilities.
- Develop and maintain an environment of compliance and control in the site commercial function.
About you
- Relevant Bachelor’s degree
- Demonstrate a strong work ethic and a positive attitude.
- Utilize problem-solving abilities to complete tasks on schedule and overcome obstacles.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is essential, experience using an ERP system is desired.
