About the Role
As the appointed Site Senior Executive under Queensland legislation, you will provide visible leadership across safety, operational excellence, environmental performance, and workforce capability.
You will oversee all aspects of mining and tailings reprocessing operations, ensuring production objectives are achieved while maintaining the highest standards of safety, compliance, and sustainability.
Operational Management
- Oversee mining activities including fleet management, haul road development, material reclamation, and ROM management
- Coordinate mining, processing, and maintenance activities to optimise production and recovery outcomes
- Monitor and improve fleet performance, resource utilisation, and operational efficiency
- Manage site infrastructure including roads, drainage, and mining facilities
- Lead progressive rehabilitation and water management activities
- Develop operational budgets, forecasts, and production plans
Safety, Environment & Community
- Ensure compliance with all relevant mining safety legislation and regulations
- Maintain environmental performance in line with approvals and management plans
- Oversee rehabilitation, water management, and waste minimisation initiatives
- Build strong relationships with regulators, stakeholders, contractors, and community representatives
People & Capability
- Lead, coach, and develop operational and technical teams
- Ensure workforce competency, statutory compliance, and training requirements are met
- Foster a positive and inclusive workplace culture
About You
- Degree qualification in Mining Engineering or equivalent
- Site Senior Executive in Queensland (MMQ)
- Minimum 10 years’ mining operations experience, including at least 5 years in a senior leadership or SSE role
- Strong understanding of surface mining operations, fleet management, and mobile plant maintenance
- Proven capability leading multidisciplinary operational teams
