Alchemy Recruitment is partnering with a government-owned utility client to support them in recruiting for two Payroll Officers to join their Finance team on a temporary basis.

About the Role

• 3-month contract with extension potential
• $44.18/hr + super
• Based in Fortitude Valley, Brisbane
• Full time, Monday to Friday, 38 hours/week
• Immediate start

What You’ll Be Doing

• Processing and validating payroll data for a workforce of 1,200+ employees
• Preparing payroll for bank submission and completing reconciliations
• Applying Award, legislative and internal policy requirements
• Supporting payroll system users and resolving system issues
• Handling and resolving employee payroll queries

Preferred Requirements

• 1-3+ years’ hands-on payroll processing experience
• Confident working with Awards, legislation and enterprise agreements
• Experience with payroll systems (processing, troubleshooting, or system support)
• Ability to work autonomously in a fast-paced environment

Preferred Qualifications

• Year 12 or Certificate level education (minimum)
• Payroll or accounting-related qualifications highly regarded but not essential
