Alchemy Recruitment is partnering with a Federal Government organisation to source an experienced client-side Project Manager for a high-profile disaster-recovery infrastructure program. This is a rare opportunity to lead the rebuild of critical maritime safety infrastructure damaged by a severe weather event.
About the Role
A severe weather event damaged infrastrcture across Queensland, the Northern Territory and Western Australia. Our client, a Federal Government organisation, is now moving into the investigation, design, repair and refurbishment phase of the recovery, and needs a dedicated Project Manager to drive the program from the client side.
In this role you will:
- Own the integrated program delivery plan, schedule and budget across multiple sites.
- Coordinate technical investigations, scopes of work, and procurement of contractors and consultants.
- Manage stakeholder consultation, site access and approval pathways across three jurisdictions.
- Monitor and report on scope, schedule, budget, risk, quality, safety and environmental performance.
- Lead site inspections, technical acceptance, commissioning and project close-out.
- Support the organisation’s insurance advisor with the severe weather event claim and ensure project records and lessons learned are properly handed over.
About You
You’re a seasoned client-side Project Manager who is equally comfortable in a program control room and on a remote worksite. You’ll bring:
- Project management qualifications and/or extensive experience delivering major maintenance or construction projects end-to-end.
- Strong client-side project and contract management skills, with the ability to run multiple projects at once.
- Sharp negotiation, stakeholder engagement and consultation skills.
- A solid grasp of government procurement, tendering and contract management practices.
- An understanding of contemporary environmental and risk management practices and WHS legislation.
- Hold Australian citizenship
Highly regarded (not essential): a relevant engineering degree and 5+ years in offshore construction, civil or coastal engineering, with exposure to concrete repair, protective coatings or aids to navigation systems.
