Radio/Communications System Infrastructure (CSI) Project Engineer

Alchemy Recruitment Consulting is currently looking for a Radio/Communications System Infrastructure (CSI) Project Engineer to join our large mining client on a initial 6 Month project (and potentially longer). In this role you will be working from site in the Bowen Basin on a Monday to Friday roster
  
About the role:
Reporting to the Engineering Lead you will be responsible for:

  • Oversight of DRS testing on site – test witnessing, punchlisting
  • Document reviews – finalisation of designs, reviews of test reports (Motorola and Radlink)
  • Oversight and finalisation of site infrastructure: Tunnel installs, control rooms
  • Completion of radio system:  Emergency Warning System, radio interface, sirens.
  • Oversight and support for radio programming – onsite and offsite radio programming contractors, configuration and deployment
  • Programming, installations, scheduling (with Site Supervisor)
  • Site Acceptance Testing – oversight and support. Implementation and Cutover Plan review and development.
  • Input into Operational Readiness and Transfer To Operations for the radio system – continuity plan, maintenance instructions.
  • Preparation for Decommissioning of the Analogue Radio System
  • Support to the Leadership team – technical advice/support

  
What are we looking for?
The experience and skillset best suited to this position includes:

  • Tertiary Qualifications in Technology or Telecommunications or similar 
  • Previous experience working on brownfiled mine infrastructure projects.
  • Background in execution of telecommunication projects, particularly Motorola technology
  • Background in installation and commission of Digital radio system (ideal)
  • The ability to finalise/review the engineering design process and prepare project deliverables including; scope of work, specifications, execution plans, cost estimates and schedule.
  • Strong contractor management skills
  • Experience in or familiarity with project/contractor management systems will be advantageous.
  • Previous experience working in a matrix functional organization is highly desirable.
  • Effective stakeholder engagement and communication skills will be critical to success

  
What to expect in return:
6-month initial contract (with potential for extension) with a leading mining owners side, based in the Mackay Coal Fields, on a generous hourly rate. Working on a Monday to Friday roster with some WFH flexibility (1-2 day a week), DIDO to the mine or FIFO with accommodation and meals provided.
