Rates Recovery Officer

Alchemy Recruitment Consulting is working with local government to secure a Rates Recovery Officer for this 4-month opportunity.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Problem solving including interviewing and advising Ratepayers on matters relating to arrears and, as and when required, entering into ‘arrangement to pay’ plans to liquidate arrears in accordance with Council Policy.
  • Monitoring and actioning accounts in arrears up to and including legal action
  • Attending to general correspondence and other type enquiries, including telephone and counter enquiries, relating to accounts in arrears in a timely and efficient manner

Essential Requirements:

  • Prior work experience where they have been taught the skill of collecting revenue over the phone
  • Proven ability to communicate and deal with people at all levels and to make prompt and reliable decisions within the bounds of allocated responsibilities.
  • Experience with computers and working with corporate database programs and the ability to update and enquire on such systems.
