Senior/Health, Safety & Wellbeing Advisor (Human Resources)

Overview:
Alchemy Recruitment Consulting is working with a local council to secure a Health, Safety & Wellbeing Advisor for a contract until December 2025.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide expert HS&W advice to support compliance and continuous improvement.
  • Partner with leaders to build capability and embed safety culture.
  • Lead or support incident investigations, audits, and risk assessments.
  • Deliver training and initiatives that enhance health, safety and wellbeing outcomes.
  • Manage and contribute to projects that strengthen WHS systems and processes.
  • Foster positive relationships with stakeholders and safety representatives.
  • Support Council’s self-insurance and legislative compliance obligations.
  • Promote a proactive, risk-based approach to health, safety and wellbeing.

Essential Requirements:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Work Health & Safety or a related field, or significant experience in a similar advisory role.
  • Strong knowledge of WHS and Workers’ Compensation legislation, regulations, and compliance requirements.
  • Proven experience in providing HS&W advice, conducting investigations, audits, and risk assessments.
  • WHS Auditor qualification (Lead Auditor preferred).
  • ICAM or similar incident investigation training (Lead Investigator level preferred).
  • Certificate IV in Training & Assessment (desirable).
  • Certificate IV in Project Management (desirable).
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Current driver’s licence and General Construction Induction (White Card).
