Senior Electrical Engineer – Projects

Permanent | 5/2/4/3 Roster (9 hour day) | Site-Based Role | North QLD

Join a leading mining operation and take charge of electrical capital projects across major processing and site infrastructure assets. This is a permanent, site-based role working within a skilled project team, offering stability and long-term career potential.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver electrical capital, sustaining, and shutdown projects safely, on time, and within budget.
• Manage design, procurement, construction, and commissioning activities for electrical and control systems.
• Develop scopes of work, project budgets, schedules, and technical documentation.
• Lead and support multi-discipline teams to deliver electrical infrastructure upgrades and reliability improvements.
• Oversee contractor performance and ensure compliance with statutory and site electrical standards.
• Conduct design reviews, risk assessments, and technical calculations to ensure engineering quality.
• Maintain project governance, reporting, and stakeholder engagement throughout all phases.
• Mentor and develop graduate and project engineers to build team capability.
• Ensure strict adherence to safety, environmental, and quality requirements.

About You

• Bachelor of Engineering (Electrical or equivalent).
• 5+ years’ experience in project delivery or maintenance engineering.
• 8+ years in mining, processing, or heavy industrial environments.
• Strong knowledge of HV/LV systems, substations, MCCs, drives, and process automation.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects, budgets, and external contractors.
• Experience using SAP or similar project/maintenance systems.
• High attention to safety and compliance.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
