Study Manager – Major Gold Project

12-Month Contract | Major Open Pit Gold Operation | Long-Term Opportunity

An opportunity exists for an experienced Study Manager to lead the delivery of a major Life of Mine feasibility study for a large open-pit gold operation.

This role will be responsible for managing a multidisciplinary study focused on extending mine life through a significant pit cutback, new tailings storage facility and associated infrastructure expansion.

This is an initial 12-month contract with a strong likelihood of extension as the project transitions into execution.

The Role

Reporting into the Projects team, you will lead the planning, coordination and delivery of complex mining studies, ensuring technical workstreams are integrated and delivered safely, on schedule and within budget.

You will work closely with internal stakeholders and external consultants to develop high-quality study outcomes that support investment decisions and future project delivery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the delivery of Life of Mine, pre-feasibility and feasibility studies
  • Develop and manage study execution plans, schedules and budgets
  • Coordinate multidisciplinary technical teams across mining, geology, metallurgy, infrastructure and project controls
  • Engage and manage engineering consultants and specialist technical advisors
  • Oversee study governance, reporting and investment approval documentation
  • Manage study risks, opportunities and technical interfaces
  • Ensure study outputs meet company standards and industry best practice
  • Drive continuous improvement of study management processes and frameworks
  • Support the transition of approved studies into project execution

About You

To be successful you will have:

  • Degree qualification in Engineering, Mining, Geology, Metallurgy or a related discipline
  • Demonstrated experience leading mining studies through pre-feasibility and feasibility stages
  • Strong background within mining, minerals processing or the resources sector
  • Experience managing multidisciplinary teams and external consultants
  • Sound understanding of project controls, estimating, scheduling and risk management
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills
  • Exposure to open-pit mining projects, with gold experience highly regarded
