Senior Project Managers & Project Managers – Major Rail Infrastructure

Multiple positions available | South East Queensland

The Queensland Government is seeking experienced Senior Project Managers and Project Managers to support the delivery of a large‑scale, complex rail infrastructure program in South East Queensland.
These roles will support the delivery of major heavy rail works currently transitioning into design, pre‑construction and construction phases. You will work as part of integrated package teams delivering works in both brownfield (live rail) and greenfield environments, across alliance and incentivised delivery models.

This opportunity offers a long‑term pipeline of work, exposure to complex interfaces and the chance to contribute to one of the State’s most significant transport infrastructure investments.

About the roles Depending on level, you will:

  • Support the delivery of major rail infrastructure works across design and construction phases
  • Work closely with Package Directors and integrated project teams to achieve cost, schedule, safety and quality outcomes
  • Contribute to planning, risk, interface and stakeholder management activities
  • Provide oversight and coordination of contractors and consultants
  • Support strong collaboration across multiple delivery packages and disciplines
  • Promote a proactive safety culture and compliance with rail standards and requirements

Senior Project Managers will provide higher‑level leadership, assurance and interface management across package activities, while Project Managers will manage defined scopes and support overall package delivery.
About you You will bring experience delivering complex infrastructure projects and thrive in highly integrated delivery environments.
Senior Project Manager

  • 10+ years’ project management experience on major infrastructure projects (generally >$500m)
  • Demonstrated experience delivering complex rail projects
  • Strong leadership, stakeholder management and commercial capability

Project Manager

  • 5+ years’ experience delivering major infrastructure projects
  • Experience working across multidisciplinary project teams
  • Strong coordination, organisation and communication skills

For all roles, you will also have:

  • Tertiary qualifications in engineering, construction management or a related discipline (or equivalent experience)
  • Rail Industry Worker (RIW) accreditation, or the ability to obtain
  • A valid Construction White Card (QLD)
