Are you an experienced Tax professional looking to take the next step in your career within the mining sector? Alchemy Recruitment Consulting is partnering with a leading resources business to recruit a Tax Manager to join their Head Office function.

Please note this role requires travel daily to Nambour, QLD. Our client requires staff in office 5 days a week.

In this key leadership role, you will manage the Group’s tax compliance, reporting and advisory activities across a complex consolidated structure. Working closely with senior stakeholders, you will drive effective tax governance and provide strategic insights that support commercial and operational decision making.
  

Key Responsibilities

• Manage preparation, review and lodgement of all tax filings (income tax, GST, FBT, payroll tax)
• Lead tax effect and deferred tax calculations and support financial disclosure and forecasting requirements
• Develop and implement tax strategies to optimise tax outcomes while maintaining compliance with Australian and international tax laws
• Provide tax advice and analysis to internal stakeholders on business initiatives and transactions
• Act as primary contact for tax authorities and auditors, managing tax audits and risk reviews
• Monitor changes in tax legislation and assess the implications for the business
• Deliver training and guidance to finance and operational teams on tax requirements and best practice
• Drive process improvement initiatives across tax systems and workflows

Skills & Experience

• CA/CPA qualified with demonstrated experience in a tax management or senior tax advisory role
• Strong knowledge of Australian tax legislation and consolidated entity/MEC Group requirements
• Proven ability to deliver accurate tax reporting and compliance in a complex corporate structure
• Commercial mindset with the ability to translate technical information to non-tax stakeholders
• Exceptional stakeholder engagement, communication, and leadership skills
